Enable is an accredited training centre for City & Guilds - and among its top-tier providers. It is also accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
At Enable, we are committed to working with the local community. We provide learning and development expertise to external organisations, placements for students at local universities, work experience for pupils of local schools, and apprenticeships for college students.

Student placements
Our placement opportunities for social work and nursing students continue to expand. Over 20 student placements at Enable are now offered each year by local universities.
Enable also offers a pioneering programme of social work placements at the Adult Training Centre in Gozo, Malta. It was recently awarded the national Skills for Care Accolade for the most innovative model of social work practice learning. Read more»
School placements
For many years Enable has been delighted to offer work experience opportunities to year 11 pupils from local schools.
Our Day Activity Resources centres at Matlock and Huthwaite have been especially popular, and several former volunteers have taken up jobs with us after gaining their GCSE in health and social care.
Apprenticeships
Enable provides a host of apprenticeship opportunities - in administration, IT, gardening, painting and decorating, as well as health and social care.
This year will see the start of a new programme of apprenticeship placements in health and social care, in collaboration with New College Nottingham»
Service user learning and development
We have developed a range of programmes for service users and they lead to accredited City & Guilds Awards at Entry 3 and Level 1. Among the topics studied are environmental awareness, problem solving, rights, and team working.
Our innovative Enter-train course prepares service users to become trainers and provide presentations to professionals. Read more»
