Golding House Resource Centre
Golding House is a day service for adults with learning difficulties who live in Matlock or Darley Dale.

Golding House Resource Centre
There are lots of different and exciting things to do, some at the centre and some out in the community. The centre can take up to 40 people a day.
At the centre, we aim to
- provide activities that are based on service users’ needs and choices
- involve service users in the community, so they have opportunities to work with people with and without learning difficulties
- work in partnership with people with learning difficulties, their parents, carers and the community
- help service users to gain control of their own lives and make their own choices and decisions, whatever their disabilities
- help people to find out about other services in the community and how to use them, to learn things, meet people, and have fun
- open up new experiences, to encourage personal development and growth.
- give people the information they need to help them make life choices.
Activities at Golding House emphasise community involvement and inclusion. The programme is constantly refreshed by the staff team and currently includes
- cookery and catering
- gardening in the allotment
- farming
- swimming
- computer skills
- arts and crafts, including pottery
- percussion and drama
- gym
- sports
- Peak Rail Project
- Snoezelen sensory room
- walking with the High Peak Rangers.
If a service user needs it, we can arrange transport to and from the centre.

Some service users come to the Golding House Resource Centre because they have been referred to us by Derbyshire County Council Social Services. Other service users refer themselves.
When service users come to us, we work with them to discover what they like doing, what they’re good at and which activities are good for them. We help them to choose the activities they want to take part in.
There are always new activities to try, so service users can vary their activities whenever they choose. They are also encouraged to take part in running the centre.
