Investors in People
"The Investors in People Standard is the core foundation of good management practice. The Standard is a benchmark for any well run organisation. It takes a holistic approach: every organisation has to meet the same 39 evidence requirements to achieve The Standard."
In July 2007 The Enable Group (Enable Housing Association Ltd and Enable Care & Home Support Ltd) were successful in renewing their Investors in People Award. The Review Report highlighted some key Areas of Strength:
1. The speed at which the majority of training and development requests are acknowledged and implemented. This has resulted in high staff regard for the training function.
2. High levels of staff motivation, particularly where PDRs, supervisions and requested training have been carried out. Staff reported that they are given a high level of responsibility which is also supporting this aspect.
3. The new management development programme led by HR has been considered very useful and effective.
4. Continuous improvement issues highlighted in previous IIP reports for this organisation are taken very seriously and have been considered and actioned.
5. The approachability of the vast majority of managers has resulted in staff feeling supported, on the whole, in their day to day work.
6. The fact that new starters have been impressed with the induction training.
The next review is due in June 2010. Exciting new developments in the IIP Framework means that increased choices are available to expand our choices. Our Enable Investor In People Working Group will be guiding the development of our choices to continue our record of success.
10 Year AWARD: Investor in People are introducing a 10 year service award for any organisation that has gained IIP for 10 years. In 2010 The Enable Group will qualify for this additional award!
